Sliding Glass Door Fixed For A Song

At the beginning of this year, the one sliding glass door in this house stopped working. I was able to shut and lock it. And I just left it. No need to try to fix it at zero to five above! My favorite fix-it person yelled at me a week ago as he drove by, so I yelled back "Help". Jim Seyfried rang the doorbell yesterday and a few hours later and 10 dollars in parts has it like new! I was braced for replacement... the door is 50 years old. The only problem is the weight of it. It was all the two of us could do to get the danged thing back in. That is one heavy mother!

Anyone in Madison County that needs some fix-it work should give Jim a call.

Two Emma Reports from Day Care

After snack we went to clean Emma off. Emma got up and ran away, diving into the bookshelf. We washed it, iced it and lots of TLC applied. (It was a large bump on her forehead)

Emma was in the kitchen area when another child tried to take her spot. Emma refused to move (it WAS the kitchen!). The other child bit her on the arm. Ice and TLC applied. (note to all: do NOT try to get between Emma and food!)

Annual Jerry Beery Creek Walk

There have been no floods this year... so far. So there were no surprises to be seen. Very little greening yet as it has been a cold winter. The one question is how many years do these two intertwined trees have left?

Finally Passed 100 Miles on a Bike This Year

This has been a tough winter for bicycling. By this time last year I has twice the miles I have now. Had a nice ride today with Gene and Janette Pass. The sun was shining and it was 70 degrees. Be still my heart!

Northeast Scottish Torr

This would be long ago and far away. Photo by Wazeka. When I was sitting on the other side, a gust of wind blew me backwards 2 feet. Had it been forewards, I would have been in little pieces.

Is Emma Really A Hobbit?

You decide!
