Oh Sh#&, I won!
I should never have listened to Frank. "There is no one on the ballot for Democratic Central Committee", says he. So without any thinking, I signed up at the Election Board. Sadly, there is no criteria in place to prevent such thoughtless action. And when confronted with my ballot Tuesday, I did the honorable thing and voted for Cory, the other person. Thankfully no one had called, so I could not possibly have won.
But last night when I waded through all the election results in the weekly paper, I reacted badly (see title of this entry). 15 to 11 was the tally. It will be an interesting experience to see how this political process works down at the lowest level. The good news is that the Democratic party in this county has no real power, so my ignorance will not cause any real damage. And it is about time that I understood this creaky political process better. And there is little chance of the tea party trying to take us over.
So I am off on a totally new adventure right here at home.
